James was married twice while he was in Hartford County but he was in the Granville area of North Carolina as early as 1753.
The Will of James Crow was witnessed on the 16th, day of July, 1792. Names sons John, James, Stephen, Reubin, Isaac, Abel, William Crow; daughters Hannah Brown, Abba Riller Pilkington, grandson Levy Crow, and granddaughter Anna Crow. He appointed two sons John and Stephen Crow sole executor of his will. No mention of a son Joshua. It is believed that

04/03: Moses Knighton and Susanna Hollis Update

In the beginning ..... except that I don’t know where the beginning actually began. For myself it began with the arrival of about 30-40 pages of the file known as FOLIO 1828. Much of the file did not make any sense to me. I was trying to find the parents of my great-great grandfather Calvin H. Knighton, about whom nothing was known prior to his marriage to Mary Ann Brown 15 February 1849 in Randolph Co., GA.
It is now a decade later that I begin again to unravel that mystery...
